Do you want to work at a school where joy, knowledge, security, and responsibility permeate everything we do? Here you will become part of a warm, competent, and development-oriented F–6 school with an after-school center, beautifully located near nature in Åby, just north of Norrköping.
Who are we?
Åbymoskolan is an F–6 school with approximately 500 curious and eager students and around 65 dedicated employees. Together, we work purposefully towards a school and after-school center with high quality, good study environment, and a safe learning environment.
Our teaching is based on the student's curiosity and desire to discover. With clear structures, common approaches, and a development-oriented culture, we create good conditions for every student to succeed.
We have an active student health team and a special focus on language, reading, and writing development as well as mathematics. Our lead teachers lead ongoing development work, and the entire unit is in an exciting phase where much is happening.
Your responsibilities
You work with students and closely with other teachers and educators. You work with students who have linguistic or communicative challenges, individually or in groups. You communicate with guardians as needed. You conduct assessments, write referrals, and document students' needs and the school's measures.
You work together with teachers for the students' benefit, increased interaction, and higher goal fulfillment, with a special focus on language and reading development.
As a speech therapist at the school, you are responsible for increasing and developing knowledge about the importance of language among all school staff. You inspire operational development measures. You work with consultation, advice, and support for educators at the individual and group level.
You are also part of the school's student health team together with special education teachers, special needs teachers, counselor, school nurse, and school management. The school also has support team teachers who work closely with the classes.
Who are you?
You are a trained speech therapist and have experience from working in a school or preschool.
You have knowledge of maintaining assessments and documentation of students' needs as well as the school's measures. You have knowledge of working with linguistic or communicative challenges, where you have worked with students both in groups and individually.
We are looking for you who can lead and develop other educators, where you lead yourself and can "bounce back" despite setbacks.
You adapt easily to new situations and ways of working and are receptive to changes. You are independent in your way of working and consult others or ask for help when necessary for effective implementation.
We see that you have a very good ability to create good relationships where you convey oral information in a clear and secure manner and adapt the language to the recipient. You are collaboration-oriented and value sharing knowledge and information.
